נותרו פחות מ-6 שבועות עד הבחירות. עכשיו הזמן להשפיע על אחרים!
מה מטרותינו בבחירות?
א. הזזת קולות מהשמאל לליכוד
רוב מועמדי הליכוד הינם בעלי דיעות לאומיות. לכן, צריך לנסות להעביר קולות ממפלגות השמאל לליכוד. כל אחד מאיתנו מכיר אנשים שעלולים להצביע למפלגות שמאל בעיקר מתוך חוסר-ידע.
נא לדבר איתם על האפשרות להצביע לליכוד (או – לפי בחירתם – "בית יהודי" או "עוצמה לישראל" שפועלת בנושא עובדים זרים וכו').
ב. קריטי: הבית היהודי – יצירת מפלגה גדולה, ימינה מנתניהו
דרושים עוד קולות רבים לבית היהודי של נפתלי בנט ואורי אריאל – כדי שהם יקבלו משרדי ממשלה בעלי השפעה, בקואליציה.
למשל: בבחירות הקודמות, לליברמן היו 15 מנדטים והוא קבל: שר החוץ, סגן שר החוץ, שר המשטרה, יו"ר ועדת חוקה חוק ומשפט, ומועמד מוסכם לשר המשפטים.
כיום לפי הסקרים, הבית היהודי שווה כ-11 מנדטים http://www.uzit.co.il/inside_page_base.asp?categoryName=polls2013&hebCategoryName=%D7%A1%D7%A7%D7%A8%D7%99%D7%9D,
צריך לשאוף שיעלו מ-11 מנדטים ל-15 מנדטים. אפשר "לחפש מנדטים" גם בקרב הציבור החילוני ("הבית היהודי" קיבל 13 "מנדטים" בתיכון בליך החילוני)
ג. שכפ"צ – מפלגה ימנית אחת גם באופוזיציה ("עוצמה":
עוצמה לישראל בייסודו של פרופ' אריה אלדד וד"ר מיכאל בן-ארי יכולה וצריכה לעבור את אחוז החסימה:
חשוב מאד שמפלגת אופוזיציה ימנית תיכנס לכנסת, מכמה סיבות:
א. למנוע טענות ש"אסור" להכניס את הבית היהודי לממשלה כי זוהי המפלגה הימנית ביותר ולכן היא "קיצונית"
ב. לא להפקיר וועדות שלטוניות: מפלגה לאומית באופוזיציה תקבל מינוים בועדות חשובות השמורים לנציגי האופוזיציה, במקום להפקירם בידי השמאל. למשל – נציג האופוזיציה בוועדה למנוי שופטים.
ג. שמירת הסטנדרטים האמיתיים של המחנה הלאומי – לא רק "מה שנתניהו מסכים"
ד. גלגל הצלה – כשיש סיבוך פרלמנטרי, המפלגה שבאופוזיציה מצביעה בעד הממשלה – וגובה, תמורה להצבעתה, איזשהו קידום של ענייני ארץ ישראל
ה. מנדט אחד נוסף למחנה הלאומי– יש מצביעים אשר כלל לא היו מגיעים לקלפיות אם "עוצמה לישראל" לא הייתה מתמודדת לכנסת.
כיצד משפיעים?
לשאול כל מיני אנשים שאתה מכיר או פוגש, "איך חשבת להצביע בבחירות?"
לנסות לחזק את הצבעתם. ואם מסתבר שכוונתם ממילא להצביע לימין, לבקש שגם הם, כמוך, ישפיעו לטובה על אלה שהם מכירים ופוגשים.

Election time – what are our goals?
a. MOVE VOTES FROM LEFT TO LIKUD:
Most Likud candidates have pro-Israel views. So, we need to move votes from the left, pro-Palestinian parties – to the Likud.For example, Yair Lapid is a 2-stater who supported disengagement because the settlers "should be taught a lesson in humility" (?): http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3315071,00.html.

b. NEW LARGISH PARTY TO THE RIGHT OF THE LIKUD
Naftali Bennet and Uri Ariel's "Jewish Home" party has already reached about 11 mandates in various polls http://www.uzit.co.il/inside_page_base.asp?categoryName=polls2013&hebCategoryName=%D7%A1%D7%A7%D7%A8%D7%99%D7%9D. This is a significant number which will create genuine political influence, especially if the party grows further from 11 mandates to 15. For example, Liberman's party had 15 mandates in the last Knesset and received the following vastly influential positions as a result: Foreign Minister, Deputy Foreign Minister, Minister of Police, and Chairman of the Legislation Committee in Knesset, plus an agreed upon ally for Minister of Justice.
So, suggest "Bayit Yehudi" to your friends.
c. RIGHT-WING PRESENCE IN OPPOSITION TOO
MK Professor Aryeh Eldad and MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari have set up the Otzma leYisrael party which will enter Knesset as an opposition party, if it earns at least 2 Knesset seats. It would be very bad to have only Left — pro-Palestinian and Arab — parties in the opposition. First, the opposition deserves slots in crucial committees and if the National Camp has an opposition party, that party can grab some of these. In the last Knesset for example, MK Uri Ariel managed to grab the opposition seat in the crucial Judges' Selection Committee, from under the nose of a left-wing opposition MK. Also, if the Otzma party fails to enter Knesset, Jewish Home can suddenly find itself labelled "extreme right" in the press and turned away from the government. Finally, the Otzma party gives the National Camp at least 1 additional mandate– due to voters who are so disgusted by the mainstream parties that without Otzma, they would simply not vote at all.
Less than 6 weeks till election day (Tuesday 22 Jan) – so NOW is the time to talk to your acquaintances and even people you see in the supermarket and on the bus and ask who they are voting for. Many people are open to suggestion IF APPROACHED NOW. Explain the importance of the National Camp parties — whichever one seems to best suit the person you are talking to. Please share with us (mattot.arim@gmail.com) any problems you may encounter or overcome as you go about this — others can learn from you — or can give you advice.
Who should you focus your efforts on? People who tend to be happy to hear a well-informed suggestion such as: women, olim, 18 – 21 year olds who have never voted before (start with your own children and grandchildren), plus people who do not read newspapers or news-sites and senior citizens.

Fact Checking Judea and Samaria Settlements

1. Judea and Samaria (Jewish roots) or West Bank (Arab roots)?
“Judea” (יהודה) is the origin of the term “Jew” (יהודי). Its Hebrew spelling combines one of God’s names: Jehova (יהוה) and one of God’s acronyms: ד’. Judea and Samaria are the cradle of Jewish history, religion, culture, holidays, ethos, language and yearnings. The official name of the area was Judea and Samaria from Biblical times until April, 1950, when Jordan occupied/annexed the area, renaming it West Bank, as distinguished from the east bank of the Jordan River. Judea and Samaria was the official name used by the 1922-1948 British Mandate of Palestine, as well as by the UN.
2. Are Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria an obstacle to peace?
Jewish settlements were established in Judea and Samaria after the 1967 War. However, it was pre-1967 Arab terrorism which annihilated the Jewish communities of Hebron, Gush Etzion and Gaza and raged in the Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the Galilee during the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. Arab terrorism aimed at preventing the establishment of an “infidel” Jewish state in the “abode of Islam.” Several Arab armies, and Palestinian terrorists, raided Israel in 1948 and persisted in anti-Jewish terrorism before the 1967 establishment of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria.
3. Is the strategic goal of Mahmoud Abbas to uproot the Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria?
Mahmoud Abbas is the Chairman of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, which supersedes and oversees the Palestinian Authority. The PLO was established in 1964, three years before the establishment of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria. The 1964 Covenant of the PLO referred only to the pre-1967 area of Israel. The current PLO Covenant targets Judea, Samaria and the pre-1967 area of Israel for “liberation.”
Abbas is, also, the leader of Fatah, which was established in 1959, eight years before the establishment of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria. The August, 2009 Sixth Convention of Fatah called for the continued struggle “to eradicate the Zionist economic, political, military and cultural existence.” The strategic goal of Abbas is to uproot the Jewish State and not, merely, the Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria.
4. Would the uprooting of Jewish settlements advance peaceful co-existence?
Peaceful coexistence on the one hand and the uprooting of Jewish, or Arab, communities on the other hand constitute an oxymoron. The 1.6MN Arabs, among 6MN Jews, within pre-1967 Israel do not constitute an obstacle to peace; nor do the 350,000 Jews, among 1.7MN Arabs, in Judea and Samaria. The uprooting of Arab communities in pre-1967 Israel would be as immoral as would be the uprooting of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. “Judenrhein areas” contradict peaceful-coexistence. In fact, the litmus test of Palestinian/Arab intent is the acceptance or rejection of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria.
5. Does Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria prejudge the outcome of negotiation?
Palestinian construction in Judea and Samaria – which is dramatically larger than Jewish construction there – presents facts on the ground, just as is Jewish construction. Western tendency to single out Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria – while ignoring Palestinian construction –prejudges the outcome of negotiations! Opposition to Arab presence in pre-1967 Israel should not be tolerated; so, too, should the opposition to a Jewish presence in Judea and Samaria. Israel’s government razes illegal Jewish homes in Judea and Samaria. Israel should, also, raze the 1,100 illegal Arab homes built annually in Jerusalem and the thousands of illegal Arab homes in Judea and Samaria.
6. Are Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria legal?
Judge Stephen Schwebel, former President of the International Court of Justice, determined that Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria was rooted in self-defense and therefore did not constitute “occupation.” Eugene Rostow, former Dean of Yale Law School, former Undersecretary of State and co-author of UN Security Council Resolution 242, which sets out the criteria for Israel-Arab peacemaking: UN Resolution 242 does not call for withdrawal to the pre-1967 boundaries; Israel’s withdrawal from Sinai amounts to a 90% withdrawal from post-1967 areas; the legality of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria “cannot be terminated except by a recognized peace between Israel and its neighbors, and perhaps not even then, in view of Article 80 of the U.N. Charter, ‘the Palestine article,'” which upholds the 1922 British Mandate for Palestine; This 1922 international legal instrument considered Judea and Samaria part of the Jewish National Homeland; “Jews have the same right to settle [in Judea and Samaria] as they have to settle in Haifa.” The 1993 Oslo Accord does not prohibit the construction of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria.
The campaign against Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria is based on gross misrepresentations. It is not a peace-enhancer; it is an appeasement-enhancer, fueling terrorism and undermining the pursuit of peace.

איך ניתן להשפיע לטובה על נתניהו? חשוב לנתניהו מאד, ש"הדתיים של הליכוד" (יולי אדלשטיין, זאב אלקין, ציפי חוטובלי ומשה פייגלין) ירוצו לציבור הדתי-לאומי וישכנעו אותו להצביע לליכוד ולא למפלגות האידאולוגיות הקטנות.
אחר הכל, הציבור הדתי-הלאומי הזה "שווה" עד 11 מנדטים.
נפנה ל"דתיים של הליכוד" בדחיפות!! למשל:
"ליולי אדלשטיין, זאב אלקין, ציפי חוטובלי ומשה פייגלין היקרים!!
דחוף!! היום וביומיים-שלושה הקרובים — אנא אימרו לראש הממשלה, שאי אפשר להושיט יד שמאל לעבר ציבור בוחרים אידאולוגי-דתי!!
אנא אימרו לנתניהו: "הקפאת את יהודה ושומרון, תמכת במדינה פלשתינית, ירית במתנחלים, שחררת אלף מחבלים כפי שאפילו אולמרט לא עשה, הקפאת את הבנייה בירושלים, הצפת את הארץ בעובדים זרים, החרבת את שכונת האולפנה ואת מגרון, פסלת את החוק להסדרת ההתיישבות, הסדרת את ההתיישבות הבדואית, נתת הפסקת-אש לחמאס. לפחות נצל את היומיים-שלושה הקרובים לסיפוח ו.או כדי לקבל את דו"ח לוי ששולל את המונח "כיבוש"!! רק כך תוכיח לציבור, שמפלגתך היא "הליכוד ביתנו" ולא "הליכוד יחריב ביתנו"!

It must be Today
We are all still in shock from the major Palestinian onslaught on Israel in the UN, comparable to or worse than the notorious Zionism=Racism UN decision, later repealed with great effort:
Has Netanyahu at least taken advantage of the international turmoil caused by the Palestinian's unilateral step, to take a same-day unilateral step for Israel? http://www.inn.co.il/News/News.aspx/247706 No, he has not.
He has not convenend a special cabinet or Knesset session, to apply Israeli sovereignty to Area C — or even only to the Jewish communities there — or even only to the settlement blocs.
Nor does he even ratify the Levy Report stating that Judea and Samaria are not an instance of "occupation"!
The same Netanyahu who missed the boat when Gaza showered us with rockets missed the boat again yesterday — totally!!!
How can we wake up Netanyahu??? There is a key which lies in the hands of the National-Religious community. Netanyahu is extremely anxious to try to cause the National Religious community (11 mandates by some estimates!!) to vote for HIM -rather than for the Jewish Home-National Union. This was in fact the main theme of Netanyahu's primaries address earlier this week. Netanyahu has assigned this job to his 4 "religious candidates", namely Edelstein, Elkin, Feiglin and Hotovely. Please can you contact those strong candidates URGENTLY NOW, for example as follows, because they CAN use their influence!! Here's how:

Please tell Netanyahu: "You froze Judea and Samaria, you supported the Palestinian state notion, you shot at settlers, you released 1000 terrorists as even Olmert refused to do, you froze building in Jerusalem, you flooded the country with African workers, you deported the Bet-El Ulpana and Migron communities, you defeated the legislation to legalize the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, while simultaneously legalizing the Beduin communities in the Negev, you gave Hamas a cease-fire. AT LEAST, the four of us INSIST that you use the next 2-3 days as a window of opportunity to apply sovereignty in Judea and Samaria and/or to accept the Levy Report! The National Religous believe in "trying before buying" so you must, must, must ACT TODAY if those votes are to be salvaged!"

General Assembly Resolution for Limited Palestinian Statehood Lacks Legal Authority

A host of resolutions passing annually by the General Assembly are not legally binding documents by any measure. One needs only to read Article 10 of the UN Charter:
“The General Assembly may discuss any questions or any matters within the scope of the present Charter or relating to the powers and functions of any organs provided for in the present Charter, and, except as provided in Article 12, may make recommendations to the Members of the United Nations or to the Security Council or to both on any such questions or matters” [italics by author].
Professor, Judge Schwebel, the former president of the International Court of Justice, has written that:
“The General Assembly of the United Nations can only, in principle, issue ‘recommendations’ which are not of a binding character, according to Article 10 of the Charter of the United Nations.”[1]
Schwebel also cites the (1950) opinion of Judge, Sir Hersch Lauterpacht, a former member judge of the International Court of Justice, who declared that:
“The General Assembly has no legal power to legislate or bind its members by way of recommendation.” Yet, another former ICJ judge, Sir Gerald Fitzmaurice, has been just as resolute in rejecting what he labeled the “illusion” that a General Assembly resolution can have “legislative effect.”[2]
Academics and renowned international law experts also agree. Professor Stone illuminates this subject by pointing out:
“In his book The Normative Role of the General Assembly of the United Nations and the Declaration of Principles of Friendly Relations, Professor Gaetano Arangio-Ruiz [3] is led to conclude that the General Assembly lacks legal authority either to enact or to ‘declare’ or ‘determine’ or ‘interpret’ international law so as legally to bind states by such acts, whether these states be members of the United Nations or not, and whether these states voted for or against or abstained from the relevant vote or did not take part in it.” [4,5]
Certain General Assembly resolutions may be recognized as “declaratory,” but no more. Among Schwebel conclusions:
“Certain resolutions of the General Assembly viewed as expressions of the assembled States of the world community
which treat questions of international law which are not the subject of principles found in the United Nations Charter may be recognized to be declaratory, though not creative, of international law, provided that they are:
(i) adopted with the support of all assembled States, or, at any rate, of all the groups of States represented in the General Assembly, including major States that are not members of a group, such as the United States of America and China.”

מחר, יום ה 29.11 הפלשתינים רוצים לקיים הצבעה באו"ם. ברצונם לשדרג את עצמם למדינה http://www.inn.co.il/News/News.aspx/247545 . הם מנסים להעניק לעצמם סמכויות אשר מסכנות את אזרחי ישראל ואת צה"ל.
זוהי צרה צרורה. כנגד זה, מתכוון רוה"מ נתניהו לעשות כדלקמן ביום 29.11:
א. למוטט את הרשות הפלשתינית
ב. לספח את איזור סי ביהודה ושומרון
ג. לקבל את דו"ח לוי (הדו"ח שקובע כי הנוכחות הישראלית ביהודה ושומרון חוקית ואינה "כיבוש")
ד. כל הנ"ל
ה. אף אחד מן הנ"ל (זאת התשובה הנכונה)

יהיה זה מחווה שלילי מינימלי נגד הפלשתינים — שמנסים להקים לעצמם מדינה מסוכנת של ממש, מתחת לאפנו.
אם נתניהו יעדיף לא לעשות דבר – אזי, הוא יגרום לכך שהציבור הלאומי יברח מהליכוד למפלגות הקטנות — כדי להפוך אותן למפגלות גדולות שנותנות שירות טוב יותר בתחום הלאומי-מדיני — יחסית לליכוד של נתניהו!!
לסיכום, אשמח לשמוע על פועלו של נתניהו ומפלגתו הגדולה ביום 29.11, תודה רבה!! (שם מלא)

The Palestinians are pushing a vote tomorrow, Thursday, 29 November, at the United Nations General Assembly, to call themselves a state. This has exceptionally dangerous implications for Israel.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu has been calling on the public to vote for HIM, not for "small parties" (Ichud Leumi, Bayit Yehudi, etc.). Will Netanyahu and his big party take big action on 29 November? or small action? or no action at all?

The hostile and dangerous 29 November Palestinian maneuver is shocking.
Will Netanyahu and his big party be retaliating tomorrow, 29 November, by pushing through something big for ISRAEL tomorrow – something that might otherwise be impossible:
Applying Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, perhaps? Ratifying the Levy Report which clarifies that Israel's presence in Judea and Samaria is legal and is not "occupation"?
Terminating Israeli payments to the Palestinian Authority? Anything? Respectfully, if this does not occur, it might not be reasonable to expect the Israeli voting public to vote for Netanyahu's big party.
Voters might prefer to vote for the smaller parties, so as to turn them into larger parties more willing to stand up for Israel. In summary, I am hoping to see big Israeli action taking place on 29 November as befitting a big party confronted with a big problem thrown in their path by the ever-hostile Palestinians.
