Pressurizing statement by ADL Nat'l Director Abe Foxman Could Cause Trouble for Israel
  
Foxman's public pressure on Israel: ADL National Director Abraham Foxman publicly asserted, this week, that it would "help make the case for Israel" if the Netanyahu government decides to present a "diplomatic initiative". Mr. Foxman assured his interviewer that "ninety percent" of American Jews would want the prime minister to "take some kind of initiative”. Israel has to enter into a diplomatic initiative "for Israel’s sake”, Mr. Foxman insisted.

This statement appears to be an ill-advised attempt of Mr. Foxman to apply public pressure to the Prime Minister of the State of Israel ("would help make the case for Israel", “ninety percent of American Jews would want", "Israel has to do it", etc.)  The statement was made by Mr. Foxman at a time in which there is no lack of powerful world figures pressuring Mr. Netanyahu already.
 
Can cause violence, lawfare, incitement: The pressurizing recommendation made by Mr. Foxman could be particularly serious because, international mindset being what it is, each time an Israeli prime-minister offers a "diplomatic initiative", he is expected  to announce a package of territorial and other concessions toward Palestinians. Many concessions made by Israeli prime ministers  to the Palestinians in the course of "diplomatic initiatives" have in the past led to violence, bloodshed, lawfare, international media incitement and other extremely troublesome outcomes for Israel.  For example, Prime Minister Sharon's Gaza disengagement plan vastly increased the ability of Palestinians to lob rockets at large cities in Southern Israel, such as Beer-Sheva, Ashkelon and Ashdod; as well as generating the still-ongoing Gilad Shalit fiasco and serving as backdrop for massive international de-legitimization of Israel, including both the Goldstone Report, which harshly criticized Israel's attempts to protect itself against Gaza, and the Gaza flotilla affair.

  
Just today, Israel's Minister for Strategic Affairs and former Chief-of-Staff, Minister Bogy Yaelon, stated that he is firmly opposed to concessions. Mr. Foxman's pressurizing statement seems to undermine the well-informed warning of the Government of Israel's most senior strategy expert.

Dangerous? Can turn to Mr. Foxman: If you are concerned about Mr. Foxman's pressurizing recommendation,  and feel that such statements, coming  from Israel's disapora, may elbow Israel's prime-minister toward concessions which are dangerous for his country, please feel free to forward this email to Mr. Foxman: afoxman@adl.org, and ask him whether he would be willing to consider withdrawing the pressurizing recommendation he has delivered publicly to the Government of Israel. ממשלת הליכוד תעקור חקלאות ביהודה ושומרון???

בימים האחרונים קרה ארוע מזעזע: המינהל האזרחי (גוף צבאי בשליטת אהוד ברק) עקר כרם שלם של חקלאי בסוסיא — תוך הפסד כספי כבד לאותו חקלאי, של עשרות אלפי ש"ח: http://www.inn.co.il/News/News.aspx/217951

http://mattotarim1.blogspot.com/2011/04/blog-post.html . מדובר במהלך שמקורו בשמאל הקיצוני במימון אירופי – יש אסמכתאות אך אנו מעדיפים לא להפיץ אותם.  העניין הוא לא (רק) לשבור את חקלאי יהודה ושומרון באמצעות פרנסתם, אלא להוציא מידיהם  אלפי דונמים שחקלאים מסורים אלה מעבדים במשך שנים רבות, ושאם ייעקרו החקלאים — ערבים ישתלטו עליהם על כל המשתמע מכך.

As you can read in the links in the Hebrew section above, the entire vineyard of a Jewish winegrower from Sussya was destroyed this week. This was an "achievement"  of radical pro-Palestinian, European funded lawfare. Damages suffered by the winegrower, Moshe Deutsch, a father of 10, son of a Holocaust survivor and brother of  Palestinian  terror victim Shaya Deutsch, were tens of thousands of shekels.

Urgent and very important indeed: We have just been informed by reliable sources that the harsh, foolish treatment in Susya, will be meted out soon to most agriculturalists in Judea and Samaria — unless the Government Secretariat immediately takes certain appropriate steps to block continued lawfare efforts  against "settlers".

השבוע אושרו סוף סוף מספר קטן מאד של תב"עות ביהודה ושומרון (תב"ע = אישור שמאפשר לבנות ביישוב מסויים)  http://glz.co.il/newsArticle.aspx?newsid=80636. מומלץ שנפעל בהמונינו כדי שיאושר גם התב"ע של איתמר http://www.inn.co.il/News/News.aspx/217485!! הנה מכתב לדוגמא (אפשר מכתב אישי מרגש במקום…):

לשרים שלום. ביום א הקרוב תשבו כולכם עם ראש ממשלת ישראל, וזהו בדיוק יום ה-30 לרצח ילדי משפחת פוגל והוריהם. אבקש מאד: נצל את ישיבת הממשלה, ואת הימים והשעות שלפניה, כדי לדרוש מראש הממשלה, את אישור התב"ע של איתמר!!

אם 45 ח"כים — כולל אפילו ח"כים רבים מ"קדימה" — ביקשו מראש הממשלה לאשר את תב"ע איתמר, לא יתכן שאתם השרים לא תשמשו פה לאותם ח"כים — ולציבור שבחר בכם! הרי את/ה נפגש כל שבוע  אישית עם ראש הממשלה, את/ה גם יכול לצלצל אליו אישית ברגע זה והוא ישיב לך.  ואילו אנו – הציבור – יכולים רק לדבר עם פקידים זוטרים שמבטיחים למסור את דברינו לראש הממשלה ובפועל כמובן לא עושים זאת.

המסקנה היא שכל שר אחראי אישית להשמיע בפני ראש הממשלה מחאה מאד גדולה על כך שתב"ע איתמר טרם אושר! הערה לסיום: השבוע הוצעה הצעה עלובה פוגענית ומקוממת, לפיה יאשרו רק את מוסדות החינוך של איתמר http://www.inn.co.il/Besheva/Article.aspx/10430 וכל שאר היישוב לא יקבל אישור. זוהי סטירה בפנים לילדי איתמר – הכסא והשולחן שלהם בבית הספר ייחשב כחוקי, ואילו המיטה שבה הם ישנים בלילה, תמשיך להיות, בעיני ראש הממשלה נתניהו, מיטה לא חוקית!? לכן, אם גורם כלשהו מזכיר את ההצעה העלובה לאשר רק את בית הספר – אנא ממך, מחה בכל תוקף והזכר לראש הממשלה, שהיישוב איתמר כולו (לא רק בית הספר שלו!!) הוקם בהחלטת ממשלה לפני 27 שנה.

Sunday morning all our ministers will be sitting down with Prime Minister Netanyahu – on the 30th, traditional commemoration day of the murder of the three Fogel children and their parents. We need the ministers to unite in reminding our Prime Minister that many Israelis, such as us, are anxiously awaiting the approval of the master plan of the Fogel's community, Itamar. This week, a tiny number of community master plans were actually approved, at long last, in Judea and Samaria: http://www.jpost.com/NationalNews/Article.aspx?id=215176,  which again shows that we must stop frightening ourselves about the dire consequences of approving building in Judea and Samaria. Reminder: 45 MKs, not including the almost 30 ministers, http://www.jpost.com/Headlines/Article.aspx?id=214110 have urged Mr. Netanyahu to approve the Itamar master plan http://www.jpost.com/Headlines/Article.aspx?id=214110 . It is long overdue, since the community was set up by virtue of a decision of the government of Israel, 27 years ago!
